Bioresorbable Heart Stent

Bioresorbable heart stents are manufactured from degradable metals like magnesium, iron, zinc and from polymers (like PLLA).
 
The stent is inserted into a patient’s clogged artery to prop it open and restore blood flow, and then gradually disappears in about three years.
